The Last Samurai? Ugh, don't get me started. Go watch Shogun for a proper samurai movie (all six hours ish of it).

A still more glorious dawn awaits, not a sunrise, but a galaxy rise, a morning filled with 400 billion suns - the rising of the Milky Way
6 hours?!

Damn right. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sh%C5%8Dgu ... iseries%29

(There's a vastly cut-down two-hour length film version as well. Don't watch it - get the whole six hour series if you can.)

Hmm, looks familiar. I think I've seen bits of it before...

Queen of the damned is my favorite vampire movie, aside from Van Helsing. I want to download them both to the Zune so badly...

Excuse me?! Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was brilliance. It won five Academy Awards!
It's also not a samurai movie, being set in China not Japan.

I prefer captions to dubbing to be honest.

Gods, if you think Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is bad you need to go watch some truly bad movies. Have a look here for some suitable titles: http://rinkworks.com/badmovie/ They're all truly awful, but the more turkeys they get, the more amusingly awful they are.

A movie does not get this many awards if it's no good: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crouching_ ... gon#Awards
Amongst many others, it won these Academy Awards:
Best Foreign Language Film (Taiwan)
Best Cinematography (Peter Pau)
Best Music, Original Score (Tan Dun)
Best Art Direction-Set Decoration (Timmy Yip [art director])

It was also nominated for these:
Best Picture (Murphy)
Best Director (Ang Lee)
Best Adapted Screenplay (Hui-Ling Wang, James Schamus and Kuo Jung Tsai)
Best Costume Design (Timmy Yip)
Best Editing (Tim Squyres)
Best Original Song (Jorge Calandrelli, Tan Dun [composers] and James Schamus [lyricist]) - for the song "A Love Before Time"

Ahem, no discussion of piracy. Thank you.

(Pun fully intended, but seriously, don't.)

I don't care what the reviews said... It was aweful... flying through the air like they do is so cheesy.
