Pretty much. Is it fair to say that they bored me, more than angered me?
I say night I'm living in the forest of my dream,
I know the night is not as it would seem,
I must believe in something,
So I'll make myself believe it,
That this night will never go.

It is.

They made me roll my eyes, but some parts were entertaining.

You really must stop. I can't understand a word you're saying.

P.S. If it makes you happy, I read the pronunciation guide of Eldest in a Draco Malfoy voice.

HOW DO YOU LIKE IT? The characters are archetypes. The entire plot is stolen. It has horrible wording, bad descriptions, excessive overwording, laughable villains. He uses 300 adverbs in the first book. Galbatorix not being present doesn't make sense. It's twice as long as it should be. He describe Oromis has a hairless groin. He spent over twenty words describing Oromis impossibly dissecting a blueberry one segment at a time...do you have any idea how ridiculous that is? He was published by his parents. Knopf saw him as a marketing scheme. He wasn't really fifteen when he wrote it. He's 22 now. He doesn't listen to criticism. He is smug. Eldest was the worst book of the year according to Entertainment Weekly. He thinks characters are born of necessity. His books are loaded with implied sex yet is marketed as a kids book. The characters are bland. Book 2 was one chunk of worthless purple prose. Arya is a vegetarian that wears leather. Her mother sheds a SINGLE TEAR after hearing her daughter, the princess of the elves, was savagely beaten and implied that she was raped but made the guards impotent.

Is there one possible reason you like this other than you really don't know what good literature is? Just curious.

Do you think that Paolini is better than Tolkien? Tolkien, a master of the craft, the father of the fantasy epic...
That was a fun conversation... too bad we haven't had any more... mwahaha...

Yes, that was intresting, though not really fun.

Deltora Quest is awesome. The Shadow Lord is the main villain and doesn't appear at all, but it's still awesome. So Galbatorix doesn't have to be in it. Artemis, Rekhyt Of Alexandria, and Ianna are the confusing ones. That conversation isn't fun. It is boring to read.

If it's "not fun" then don't read it, don't complain about it. Though I suspect that's mostly because they disagree with you and they've got a lot of valid points (one of which you've sort of addressed by counter-example..).

Wammy, half of the things you write down either don't make sense, or have nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Could you at least, please try to stay on topic?

Which proves nothing. Popularity != quality. Besides, anyone can selectively quote reviews. The full New York Times quote is "for all its flaws, [Eragon] is an authentic work of great talent." The School Library Journal said that Eragon is overly simplistic in its resolution of plot issues. Common Sense Media said the dialogue is long-winded and clichéd, the plot is "straight out of Star Wars by way of The Lord of the Rings, with bits of other great fantasies thrown in here and there" and that it's "overblown and derivative."

Isn't Deltora Quest those books with the holographic dragons on the front? Shows us what kind of books you like. I've seen little kids at our library reading them and they're about 50 pages and each word is like 1 inch in height.

The Book Sense Book of the Year
Note the absence of any awards at all besides being a Book Sense Book of the Year, and they're pretty much sell-outs. One of the phrases of praise have to do with Paolini and not the book. More than one of those are selective quoting from negative reviews. Another is saying that it's the type of books that will appeal to children who want a seriously dumbed down version of Lord of the Rings.

Great job at showing me praise for a book. You do know that every single published book has some positive reviews pasted on the cover, right? What's the worst book you've ever read? I'll find you positive reviews for it even if it's not fit for the bottom of a kitty litter box.

That one with the Barbie and the ponies.

Deltora Quest does not have holographic dragons on it's cover. I also like historical fiction ex. Johnny Tremain.
