Alright, there are many definitions of the word "smart". Everyone has different tastes and opinions.
We could always just recycle Eragon.
Most of us didn't waste our money on it. Practically everyone on this board was given it as a gift. A bad gift, but the giver didn't read the book, so this was unintentional.
Simply because someone is in a spelling bee doesn't make them "smart" in every area.
My reasons for thinking Eragon was awful, are as follows:
1. The sentance structure was bad. Reading his work was quite irritating as he barely ever put commas and periods in the right place.
2. He tries to enforce his beliefs on others using the books, and doesn't accept that there is more than one way of thinking about something.
3. Whenever he finds something difficult to write, he simply skips over it.
4. The plot was old. It has already been used a hundred thousand times.
Simply because the book has a dragon in it and not many other books do, doesn't make it original, this just supplies us with an unpredictable "costume" for the dragon's character.
Many, many, other books have dragons in them, and they are actually well written and original. I'll post a list in this thread, with my next post.
I say night I'm living in the forest of my dream,
I know the night is not as it would seem,
I must believe in something,
So I'll make myself believe it,
That this night will never go.
