Ptolemy's Gate

How do you find the Bartimaeus Trilogy ending to be?

A) Ewwwww! What a disgrace to the Bartimaeus Trilogy. Stroud is a embarrassment.
B) Bad. Just horrible. Nathaniel didn't deserve his ending.
C) Dislike, but can't think a a better ending
D) So-So
E) Satisfying
F) Brilliant!
G Don't give a fece about the ending.
A tiny small one yes. Not a proper one

Who needs a proper denoucement, right on paper? Who said it wasn't inferred?
Did it tell us what happened after the events of the series? No. So if there was a denoument, it was rubbish.

Why do we need to know what happens afterwards?
So that we don't have to guess and never know if we were right or wrong

That's what makes it fun. We can make up our own ending if we want to and nobody would care if it's right or wrong (as long as you don't tell anybody). If JS told us straight out what happened in the ending...well, I can't think of anything to say here. Some of us might not be satisfied if he did tell us what happened, and we would think it's just all plain and boring.

For example, you can make Nat come back to life, Kitty jump off a cliff because she's depressed, Bart be summoned by the Queen of England...or you can make the Footstool magically tap-dance and eat bowls of rice all around London. (All of these aren't even half-likely, I know.) -_-

Why do you need to know if you're right or wrong? Life's a mystery. We'll all die not knowing a crapload of stuff.
Yes, but when we die we won't care about not knowing stuff, 'cos we'll be dead.

If we knew the answer to what happened in the future, would we even be here discussing it? I think it's better not knowing; it lets us put our ideas together and speculate. Besides, if you REALLY want to know, just ask the author and wait for his answer.

Knowledge is good, but imagination's better. A life full of mystery gives it more exitement. (Hey, I just said something wise-sounding! :wow: )

You're :welcome: . By the way, does anyone know if JS is going to make the Bartimaeus Bible he was talking about writing?

Nope, but keep watching.

You know what? I agree :lol2:

Also, I am quite surprised that the name Ptolemy hadn't been stolen respectfully appropriated by someone on these forums before... all the other names have been.

I don't think I'll go naive and say:

NO HE SHOULDN"T!

So I'll just ask,

Let's say he did survive. Somehow after all that falling glass, iron and the explosion of the staff. What ending would it be?
Yeah, i guess ur right Nero.......but its sooo sad!!!!

Throughout the series i found myself wishing that Nat would save the day, or help someone himself ( not using Bart or any other of his "servants") and then right at the end he does save the day (though Bart did help him a great bit) ...... but i didnt want him 2 die!!
Why are you so yellow? ---- Bartimaeus (The Golem's Eye)
I guess mostly everyone felt like that when they read the ending, including me. :welcome:

Oh, and please try to edit your post instead of double posting. The admins don't want too many posts coming from the same person all in a row.
