Ms. Lutyens/Nathaniel (older)
- I know Nathaniel would like this pairing~. I think they kind of complete each other. Nathaniel is impatient and emotional, but Ms. Lutyens is calm and patient. She would help Nat become more patient and calm him when he's stressed. I believe Ms. Lutyens could have guided Nathaniel to have been a more compassionate and altruistic person. And while Ms. Lutyens is reserved and kind of complacent, Nathaniel is ambitious and determined. He would stand up for her and protect her from being bullied by the magicians. If they were together and Ms. Lutyens got unjustly fired, Nathaniel would not stand for it and would probably duel her former employer, Gladstone-style.
Ms. Lutyens always liked Nathaniel for his talent and determination. If she had met Nathaniel as an adult, rather than as a student, she'd probably admire Nathaniel even more~.
I think if Nathaniel had been with Ms. Lutyens, or someone like her, it might have changed everything. Loving a 'commoner' and seeing how commoners are treated would have moved Nathaniel to help them. Instead of focusing on Lovelace, Nathaniel would instead have put his tremendous intellect and determination towards changing the world for the better.

Mrs. Underwood/Mr. Pennyfeather
- Honestly, Mrs. Underwood would be better off with Anyone beside Mr. Underwood, but I feel Pennyfeather is an exceptionally good match for her. They are both modest commoners who just want to get by. Mrs. Underwood has always been a very kind and compassionate person. Mr. Pennyfeather is the same, always trying to help fellow commoners and get justice for those who have been hurt. And Mr. Pennyfeather is a real man who protects those he loves with his very life. He's not a selfish coward like Mr. Underwood. If Lovelace tried to pull his crap around Mr. Pennyfeather, things would have gone a lot differently. Pennyfeather would just bend Jabor over his knee and spank Jabor to death. Then, he'd bitch-slap Lovelace and shove his walking stick where the sun don't shine.
