Birds look more appealing when slightly plump. Must be the sub-conscious chicken associations o.o. Sent, are the hawks expensive to maintain? vet bills and stuff. I'm assuming that you're the owner...

Nah, I don't own them, just the land the owner flies them on.
They are extremely expensive, though. £600 for the bird, £50 every couple of months for bulk deliveries of frozen chicks for food, vet bills of a couple of hundred a pop (you need to see a specialist vet), a couple of hundred on general kit like bags, gloves, jesses, perches, however much it costs to build the aviaries.
Plus an awful lot of time.
