But it's not supposed to happen 'till December...

Clearly, the London Olympics are going to trigger the end of the world. And if they don't, the mass gathering of Morris dancers they're planning for the opening ceremony will.

Well at least (hopefully) the date for the opening ceremony will not be going to be 12-12-2012...will it?

More problems with gymnastics, it seems

But seriously, I really want to know how they do that tie-breaker system...

Ah well, US is still ahead in overall medal count.
Considerably ahead, in fact.

You're three total medals ahead of China.. that's not that much. And they're 19 ahead of you on golds.

In our defense, it wasn't like anyone expected China not to come out on top this Olympiad.
I'm just happy we're in second, with you guys in third, and I think the Germans in fourth.

Russia's fourth, Australia fifth and Germany sixth.

the americans have a population of 304,909,000 compared to Britain's population of 60,587,300 so on average we have 2.64081747 × 10-7 golds pre person compared to america's 8.52713433 × 10-8 golds per person :)
(china have 3.39464054 × 10-8 golds per person)

note: i suck at maths but i think 2.64081747 × 10-7 is bigger than 8.52713433 × 10-8...not sure tho.

Standings are by gold medals first, then silver, then bronze, so China is miles in the lead.
