Easy to tell if it's French - if the layout is AZERTY rather than QWERTY it's French.

It was qwerty, I don't think it was French. And it's not Latin.
Sad. The tall ship I was supposed to be on for the weekend hit a shoal (not due to crew, it was lower water levels), got a leak, and dumped us off at Kingston(On, Can). So now I have to camping with my family. <_<
