I'm so happy to find a community for one of my favorite books of all time.
When I was a little kid, I remember snuggling in bed with my dad as he read this to me. Such good memories. We are both really into science fiction and stuff of that genre. He and I were completely enthralled with the creativity behind the book, and for a time it inspired me to be an author as well.
Now I'm 16 and in high school. I've changed my mind about a lot of things that I want to do in the future (job-wise). Then recently I picked up my old video camera that me and my best friend in elementary school filmed stuff with. I found our recreation of the Lord of the Rings with Legos and the movie playing in the background. It really brought back good memories.
It was sort of a nostalgic for me to go back and see what I used to love doing as a kid. In fact, for the past few months I've been wanting to be a film director. I've filmed stuff here and there, but nothing to the length of a full feature film :P
I had been wanting to make my own movie for a really long time, and as I was thinking of ideas for my own film I searched through my shelf of books - looking for inspiration. There I found my favorite trilogy. Bartimaeus just sitting there in the corner of my shelf.
I quickly googled to see if anyone had made a movie yet. Unfortunately I couldn't find one; I was a little disappointed that there wasn't a film about this incredible book yet.
Then I searched youtube and found Whitepanda's animation. I loved it. I instantly remembered that very part of the book.
Anyway, I found a link in the description box that led to this website, and I'm so glad this place exists
