Hi everyone, just reading the third book again and came across a bit I hadn't noticed before and was wondering who could clarify this for me.

Kitty tells Nat that Bart encouraged her and hinted to save Nat from the Golem in book 2 but having read it recently and looking back at it, he actually tells her to leave and that she is crazy if she stays and he can't believe she would. I think I also remember Bart telling Nat that it was her own decision. I might have misunderstood something but can someone possibly elaborate?

Yeah. Iirc, he said that she was just being as smart as a magician for letting the Golem kill Nat and that Nat would have done the same if he was in her place. He knows Kitty resents being compared to a magician and so made her decide to save Nat.

Oh great, yeah I thought there must have been something between the lines, and would have guessed that but couldn't see it anywhere til now!! Never thought about it before so must have got that in the past, maybe as I get older I just don't see things anymore!! Thanks guys (and to admin who moved this to the right place!!)

Yeah Barti totally stops her the first time shes about to run off. Then he says something like nat will die especially oncethe gollem gets past that car, which I read to mean hurry up

It's one of my favourite scenes... I've read over about 10 times, because I <3 how Bartimaeus tries to (indirectly) save Nathaniel even though he didn't have to.

Myabe he felt like Nathaniel was pretty much the only friend he had left. Queezel's dead, Ptolemy's dead, who's left? Also, if Kitty left him for dead, she really would be no better than the magicians.
