Who pays on a date?

So my friend and I were having a discussion on who should pay during the first date, if a Male was to ask out a female? We have gotten split opinions from people. So I'd just thought I'd get some opinions from here.

That was a question. I was in no way confident.

Personally, I think it is better to take turns and pay. Better than going Dutch. First date, you pay. Second date, your partner pays and so on. At least, that is what my friends and I do. Sharing equally sometimes is a little too formal.

Well after the first date it seems easier cause you kind of know the person. Its always the first date that is a little eiffy. You don't want to pay if you're with a feminist, who might think you're undermining her. Tricky business these first dates.
