What Song Reminds You A Lot Of The Story?

Is there any songs that remind you of anything in the story? For instance I think the song "The Reason" by Hobbastank pertains a lot to Nathaniel and his thought with Kitty in Ptolemy's Gate. I also think the song "Breaking the Habit" by Lindin Park pertains to Nathaniel at lot with the "inside struggle" with himself thing. But that's just me, what song do you think would fit in any Bartimaeus Trilogy scenario?

How about "here we go, one more time" by flipSide for the whole Cycle of strife thing.

Ever since I've finished the third book, I am listening to Placebo's Every you Every me! It's so tragic, and it always reminds me of the whole Bartimaeus/Nathaniel storyline and especially the end of book three. :(

This is a great thread, I am desperately looking for new Bartimaeus Trilogy songs!

Okay, it's a long list:

Oasis songs:

Don't Look Back In Anger
Wonderwall
Cast No Shadow
Live Forever
Slide Away
A Bell Will Ring
Keep the Dream Alive
Guess God Thinks I'm Abel
All Around the World
I Hope, I Think, I Know
Magic Pie
Aquiesce
The Masterplan
Stop Crying Your Heart Out
Talk Tonight

Coldplay songs:

The Scientist
Fix You
Amsterdam
Everything's Not Lost

The Beatles:

Help!
We Can Work It Out
Come Together

Led Zeppelin:

Stairway to Heaven

Jet:

Move On

Foo Fighters:

Best of You

If I had to choose the songs that reminded me most, here's what they'd be:

1) Cast No Shadow
2) The Scientist
3) Talk Tonight (I really thought about putting this one at #1)
4) Everything's Not Lost
5) Wonderwall
6) The Masterplan
7) Amsterdam
8) Stop Crying Your Heart Out
9) I Hope, I Think, I Know
10) Best of You
11) Slide Away
12) Move On

Yeah, I know, long list. But they all really reminded me of it. :D

Dang Bowles, that's a lot! I have new one now, it's called 'Fly' by Hilary Duff. Once again, it's another song that would pertain to Nat breaking out of his Mandrake shell and become the good boy he once was and blah blah blah.

Stars by Switchfoot kind of reminds me somehow; it's more telling about my life than Nathaniel's, and how I looked upon those who were thought to be greats at an old forum and thought them to be a lot less grand than the gods they were made out to be. It can go to how Nathaniel begins to see how people thought to be powerful and heroes are nothing but normal, flawed people.

I loved the Bartimaeus books but, like all trilogies, it was way too short.

Wow, I didn't even know this topic existed.
No good mentioning any song on my part. They are mostly Hindi ones. A couple of them fit well.

"Lions!" by Lights.

The lines "Death is a charade/You don't have to feel safe to feel unafraid" make me think of Nat and Bart's last stand.
But it could also apply to Harry Potter, Lirael Goldenhand, Thirrin Lindenshield, and whole host of fictional heroes.

Edit: And also "No Place Like London", from the musical Sweeney Todd.

"There's a hole in the world like a great black pit
and the vermin of the world inhabit it
and its morals aren't worth what a pig can spit
and it goes by the name of London...
At the top of the hole sit the privileged few
Making mock of the vermin in the lonely zoo
turning beauty to filth and greed...
I too have sailed the world and seen its wonders,
for the cruelty of men is as wondrous as Peru
but there's no place like London!"

It's actually set in the Victorian era, but it sounds a whole lot like Nat's London.
