People are, in general, muppets.

No. This person is not a muppet. Muppets are cool :sun: . This person is deranged. I guess I *could* maybe understand some people liking the books. But to call the main character outstanding... ^o)

4/5?!
I'd say -1000/5 is nearly accurate. A few hundred too high.

"Muppet" is English slang for moron/whatever.

Oh, I get it. (had a childhood obsession with the puppet muppets)

I know it's no surprise that Brisingr is on that list, but who knows, what if Eragon turned out to be a really retarded character in the next book, or the Inheritance version of Anakin Skywalker?

Maybe it's just me, I guess...

Edit: My point is that Brisingr didn't even come out in stores yet, so how can you tell the book's going to be good as or better than the past two if you haven't read it yet? (Not that I'm saying IC is actually good...I think it's just ok.)

Why are you trusting the opinion of someone who identifies with Eragon?

Oprah's book club makes really good suggestions, if you are interested.

my friend lent me the first book in that list...im not sure if i should read it anymore.

doctor who in 13 mins >.<
I love that, after years of not using this forum, my average posts per day is 0.7
Oh, I'd heard those ones (The Dresden Files, I think?) are pretty good...

And somehow I don't think the books the author of the list reads are very diverse. There are 24 different books, but only 5 different authors.

But maybe there's hope:

The list author says:
"A riveting story. Kept me reading non stop. Unfortunately all of the "surprising" elements to the end of the story were so obvious you already knew conclusion before you were 50 pages in. 3.5/5"

(bold mine)

Oprah scares me...

Eragon needs to die...A horrible painful death.

Oprah is my godwoman :(

She's so cool and generous. When I was like 10, I used to come home everyday and my neighbor and I watched her show.

Her grip on the western psyche is scary.

I've never seen an Oprah episode all the way through.

only American thanks, she has no grip with the UK or probably most of Europe. I have never even seen any of an episode.
On IF I gave Eragon 5/10 and Eldest 2/10. But thats just me...

Although his review on Eldest was accurate, except for the rating, of course.

I feel like every thread turns into an attack on Eragon.
I don't object, though...

Heh, yes unfortunately that's true.

Ah, but this thread started as an attack on Eragon, more or less. ;)
