I was re-reading the book (for like the third or fourth time, cause I have no life) and I just caught this bit
Quill Kipps is staring out into the green with his new goggles and sees this:
"Two cloaked figures, standing close together on the green, standing close together like theyre sheltering from the cold. Ghost fires rising from their capes. Now theyre breaking into a run, theyre gone!"
Maybe I'm just late to the party, but was that Lucy and Lockwood? If they were, do you know how many more questions this brings up? That was at least three hours before the break-in at the Rotwell agency, which means that they went back in time as well as to a different dimension. they'd wondered whether they were spotted; I'd say they quite well were.
