Textiles-related books. What is your project on?

Reading Genes X - Lewin.
I hope I pass in my other papers. I only seem to be reading molecular biology 90% of the time. But hey, at least I will get excellent marks in this paper. I've gone way beyond my syllabus.
Tbh, I like biochemistry and modern biotechnology a lot too. Immunology is fine, but it is scary. It is so vast. It is becoming like hard-core biology (you know anatomy and stuff which, btw, I'm awfully frightened of and which I don't at all enjoy). And one paper I'm going to definitely fail; industrial microbiology and instrumentation. I haven't even opened those books so far. Because I don't plan on sleeping more than I currently do.

I'm reading the Crowfield Curse. It's actually pretty good.

It also has a very smexy cover.

Temporarily put down A Short History, because Surface Detail by Iain M Banks is here, and ZOMG NEW CULTURE BOOK!

I had to come up with a project for my Textiles class final, so I went and took like 20 books out of the library to try and find my idea. Ended up not using them at all, but I still think I'll flip through them.

I'm making a quilt in the style of old vintage advertisements. Excited about it, but I'm sure I won't be in a couple weeks when I realize just how difficult it's going to be and set the thing on fire. :P

Haha. That is how most projects start. It reminds me of one I took part in. Which exactly when along the lines of this:

1. Initial enthusiasm
2. Inevitable problems
3. Search for someone to blame
4. Punishment of those who are innocent
5. Praise and reward for the non-participants

Honestly, it did. And, since I was nearly one of the non-participants of the project (a very minor role), I got most of the praise =p.
Anyway, good luck with your project. It sounds pretty interesting.

Gee, I got a bad headache today and so all I'm doing today is messing about. Like demonstrated above.

O_o. In what context are these examples given?
8. Catapult in Retireland
In Retireland, no one commutes to work, and everyone consumes a single good (food), which is imported from another region and can be purchased from the nearest vending machine. Alternatively, food can be delivered be a distant catapult, capable of flinging a meal through a food slot on the customer's roof. And then they give you prices and you find the market area of the vending machine, the point is I would demand euthanasia if my dining options were vending machine or catapult.

I've never quilted so idk what I'm talking about but they usually do really large scale pictures or mountains or birds, you're going to have issues machining the tiny little letters down and you'll have to make them not crooked and everything. Maybe you could cross-stitch it. It's easy to plan, 'cos you can draw it on graphpaper or computer generate it. And there's a really cute site called Subversive Cross stitch for inspiration.
That's just awesome.

I'm doing panels of different things and then stiching them together with a machine, but the actual panels will be done in silk screen, silk painting, fabric paints etc, because that's the stuff we've been learning. Going to have to work really hard on it though; turns out I have a 73 in that course, which is the second lowest midterm mark I've ever had...

73 is your second lowest midterm mark ever? I envy you. Anyway, what all stitches have you learnt? I did stitching [embroidery and knitting (hardly) included] for a few years, and, while I really didn't enjoy it much then, I like it now. Do you just stitch with a machine?
@ Luciene: I can now understand why you have so much difficulty taking your economics book seriously.

Think of a Number ~ Don't remember the author, and I'm too lazy to check it.

But the book is awesome.

The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe - Douglas Adams.
It's taken me long enough to get around to reading this, and now school is giving me barely enough time to finish.
On the plus side, I've managed to read and enjoy my proof copy of RoS. :)

LUCKYYY!! The previous one isn't even out in Spain. Spain fails. I want to read Arty books.

Finished it. It was bad.
No great plans from Arty and a very sorry story-line.
I think I preferred the sixth. The books are getting worse.

Hmm...I didn't think it was that terrible, but the first book and Lost Colony were undoubtedly better.
[+] Spoiler
There could have been a bit less cringe-worthy flirting from Orion though. Then again, seeing as there was a hint of a relationship brewing between Trouble and Holly, I'm still hoping that something will happen between them in the next book. I just don't understand Holly and Artemis shippers. :-/
I hope the next book (which I think is going to be the last) is up to the standard of the first ones in the series, or else it would have been a complete waste of time. Eoin Colfer; you have expectations to live up to.
