And your reading Nineteen century chicklit?
It's required school reading for the next school year. I'm just trying to not procrastinate for once in my life.

Erm, don't know what your school is like specifically but here it's math/science that's regarded as the most...oh what's the word? Prestigious? Most important to take seriously? 'Real subject'? Languages second. English is almost as important as math/science but somehow kinda lower on the caste. Foreign language and social studies are on the third level. The rest like computers, fine arts, speech, religion are supposed to be more the somehow still essential classes. The only thing that prevents students from falling asleep are the participation grades.

Or it might be that the teacher is just so chillaxed. As long as we do something at some point, texting, eating, and even sleeping is tolerated.

(Oh, and my specific art brand that I'm taking is painting/drawing)

Well, Law and all the English honor branches are Arts...

Painting and Drawing? Did you choose that out of passion and confidence in your naturals gifts, or have you already failed in life?

Tell that to my school. Law and most 'English honor branches' would be considered an electives, I think. (Unless you count speech, but that's a separate reqirement in itself.)

And as to your question, it's the only summer school class that lets me get half my art credit out of the way. Well that and photography, which I'm also going to take when I'm done with this.

English honours, you know Journalism, Literature and all that.

Ah, odd system. All I have to concern myself is getting a goddamn 33% on my overalls.

Well we do have a journalism class, creative writing, etc. Never really thought of it as 'honors.' Then again, everyone speaks English here anyway. Literature would just be part of English class. :P

(And are you going to post what book you're reading?)

It's not just Art, Science, Commerce here. Everything is separate and Business related courses go under social sciences or math, depending.

Its doesn't matter if their all seperate, the diploma is known as English Honours, which is an Arts degree.

Eh, Daemon World by Ben Counter.

Git. I have to get 40%.

Despite a brief interlude of My Waves and Optics Notes, I am now reading My Electromagnetism Notes Strike Back.
Sigh.

We have to have a minimum of 70%...

Maybe our work is easier?

All this pressure put on us and we still became regarded as the stupid country...clearly something's wrong. If friggin' Oxford allows 40 it should be good enough for us!
(Wait, are we still thought of as dummies? The overt AMERIKASUXBALLZ cracks seem to have been lessened somewhat in general conversations I read/hear but...yea)

I've been noticing the same; maybe the foreign elitists are finally starting to feel bad for us, now that we're spiraling downwards. Or maybe it's the fact that the Bush Admin. is gone.

ICSE is good too. Some state boards are good (AP, TN for example) & some are pathetic (Maharashtra, Bihar).
I did my 11th & 12th from CBSE too. So you have just entered 12th? Best of luck.

Reading 'survival of the sickest'. It's fascinating; tells us why we need diseases.

Don't make me send you examples of my exam papers. The average mark is about 55-60.

Eh, no. Starting 11th.

You have useless subjects like Arts, Religion and Film Studies, we don't. Most Asian systems start specialization in High school, so I study Science and English and nothing else.

Hmmm, I've found that most ignorance is willful. Stupidity = Lazyness.
