"Northern Lights" to sensible people...

I'm reading The Algebraist by Iain M Banks, having just read Excession by the same author.
Got a couple of Pratchett books lined up next.

What is this racism? Europeans are the only sensible people now? :P

Apparently so.

Of course the more sensible course of action is to throw the book series in the trash and walk away.

I'm reading Children of Huirn by J.R.R Tolkien.

where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve and chivalry

The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien
The Disposessed by Ursula K. Leguin

Whoo. The Silmarillion is taking FOREVER!

On Destroying Golems:
QUEEZLE: But we have to destroy it. That's our charge.
BARTIMAEUS: Well, destroy it by running away.
QUEEZLE: How?
BARTIMAEUS: Um . . . Make it chase you, then lure it into heavy traffic? Something like that.

The smiley is bashing IE and promoting FF.
I'm currently reading the posts above me
Bash IE because it deserves to be bashed. FF rox.

The Silmarillion is long, kinda boring, but good nonetheless.

Really? I wasn't aware it was made to let every random piece of spyware/adware/trojan onto your computer that wanted to get on. That's where I've been going wrong all this time...

I Am the Messenger. Reading it for a book review for the library. Is quite good though.
There is a sort of busy worm,
That will the fairest book deform,
Their tasteless tooth will tear and taint
The poet, patiot,sage or saint,
Nor sparing wit nor learning.
Now, if you'd know the reason why,
The best of reasons I'll supply;
'Tis bread to this poor vermin.

Would anyone reccomend that I read the Otherland books by Tad Williams? I saw them sitting on my shelf and was wondering.
