I've not read Anansi Boys, as it's a sort of sequel to American Gods and I've only just finished that, but American Gods starts good and gets steadily better. By the end it's absolute genius.

Vader owns all other villains. His cultural impact is much bigger than this Norman Bates person. Can Norman Bates force choke someone? I think not.
