Done the entire Hunger Games trilogy.
Cool. I keep hearing about how good they are.

ABSOLUTE MIDNIGHT - CLIVE BARKER

Finally, I've been waiting about four years.

Oh, its been released? Cool.

Yeah, I expected far worse for the Hunger Games. But I was actually impressed with the vastness of the world Suzanne Collins has created, and the characters are (fairly) deep.
Yeah, it's been released, but reading it I think I'm going to have to go back to the first book and start over, because I've realized I don't remember who half the characters are by this point. Might just skim through all of the pictures, first. :D

I actually saw a paperback of the first one at a store the other day that didn't have illustrations, which is quite silly.

Good choice.
Recently finished it myself. And saw the Swedish film. Need to see the Hollywood one and read the sequels...

I have all the three books with me. But I just got to read two chapters of the first book. And that too, in between lectures. I hope I get the time to complete it by this month end.
The Swedish adaptions are supposed to be really good.

Mehhh. It's not a waste of time. Still disappointing from all the hype for me.

am i the only one thats slightly embarrased to pick up books in shops that have been made into movies. it always feels cheap like you don't really read and your just jumping on the band wagon. especially when they have them horrid movie covers.

and i'm reading GE because i brought the new covers :D:D:D:D

Finished the two other books in the Millennium trilogy (The Girl who Played With Fire and who Kicked the Hornet's Nest). AMAZING. Seriously. Better than the first in some ways, I thought.

I need to read those.

The Magicians - Lev Grossman
Not sure whether I like or hate this one to be honest. The plot is interesting, but the main character approaches Bella Swan levels of whininess. And the moral of the story seems to be "If you like escapist fantasy, then you suck."

Really? Well, in that case, time to add it to my list of books to read.

I have finally finished the behemoth known as A Tale of Two Cities. Fantastic. Best of Dickens' that I've read.
I finished The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. And I liked it a lot.
Started with the second.

i've read that. I just thought it was weird. not bad, but just weird. it was a magical soapy school drama, if a very random one, until the end where it turned into narnia in a really in your face way that had almost no relation to the rest of the book. what's worse was the characters and development made sense it was just the plot that did a 180 and just at the very end. but i didnt hate it in fact i liked it, i thought the guy was an interesting character (though yeah he was a bit whinny) but it was just weird. i've never read a book like it before.

i hope you've read it by now.

Good plan.

Just finished Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud. It's fantastic and makes me want to draw a lot. And now on to The Hero with a Thousand Faces because I'm on a non-fiction kick.
