Mehhh. It's not a waste of time. Still disappointing from all the hype for me.nathanielandbartimaeus wrote:The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - Stieg Larsson
Really? Well, in that case, time to add it to my list of books to read.Sentynel wrote:Finished the two other books in the Millennium trilogy (The Girl who Played With Fire and who Kicked the Hornet's Nest). AMAZING. Seriously. Better than the first in some ways, I thought.
i've read that. I just thought it was weird. not bad, but just weird. it was a magical soapy school drama, if a very random one, until the end where it turned into narnia in a really in your face way that had almost no relation to the rest of the book. what's worse was the characters and development made sense it was just the plot that did a 180 and just at the very end. but i didnt hate it in fact i liked it, i thought the guy was an interesting character (though yeah he was a bit whinny) but it was just weird. i've never read a book like it before.wrote:I need to read those.
The Magicians - Lev Grossman
Not sure whether I like or hate this one to be honest. The plot is interesting, but the main character approaches Bella Swan levels of whininess. And the moral of the story seems to be "If you like escapist fantasy, then you suck."
Good plan.Sentynel wrote:Reading The Hunger Games today.
