Twilight/ New moon

Book Discussion
Twilight isn't even 1% as good as Inheritance. I'll grant that Paolini's books are excessively long, but at least they make for good reading.
Bartimaeus: It won't be the only mad thing about if you let this lot go. Check out that one at the end. He's taken the form of a footstool. Weird...but somehow I like his style.
Nathaniel: That is a footstool. No one's using that Pentacle.
I like Meyer's actual writing better, without the gratuitous adverbs, adjectives, thesaurus abuse, etc. but Paolini's got better structure. Someone needs to teach Meyer about proper plot structure, and Paolini how to do more with less (also, how languages work). Both need to learn about characterization. There's hints of something that could possibly be good in there, but they need to work at it, and are probably never going to because they're just heaped with praise all of the time.

With the sparkly vampires, are we actually ever told told what sort of purpose it serves. It makes absolutely no sense, how does that help the vampires, at all? Though to be fair, if you look at what vampires were before Stoker, it is not the weirdest thing to happen to vampire lore by far.
