Theories as to what Jabor was Doing in Phoenicia

General Discussion

Some Ideas:

Maybe he was in one of the Phoenician temples?
Something related to the story of Europa and Cadmus probably.
Well he was in Tyre, but he wasn't involved in that Europa nonsense.
He was in Phoenicia during the reign of the Ptolemies in Egypt. Maybe worked for the high priests of Astarte installed in Sidon.
He didn't work for Phoenicians at all; he was summoned by pirate magicians who often attacked Phoenician ships.
The nefarious and mysterious Sea Peoples...
The Phoenicians traded with the Myceneans, who adopted their alphabet and things. Faquarl worked in Mycenae, 'EEEEEEY.
THE TROJAN WAR.
Something relating to Phoenician colonies, like Cyprus, or Carthage.
I'm going to be original and come up with my own theory!

Alright guys, come on. Let's hear your best yarn for what Jabor was doing in goddamn Phoenicia. You know, what with their heavy maritime trade and other jazz.

Ehhh...I suck at history, but I think that something with the colonies is very likely.

Yeah, I've been leaning towards that too; I put the Cadmus and Europa thing in there, because in Greek mythology Thebes was started by Cadmus who was a phoenician prince while looking for his kidnapped sister.

I gotta wonder if Jabor stuck with the Anubis getup while hanging out with these dudes though. From what it seems, if he wasn't gonna change his look in semi-modern day london, than he ain't gonna do it for the Phoenicians either. Imagine a disgruntled magician trying to get him to go for a different look.

Well, he was more brawn than brains, so it's a wonder that he lasted that long if he refused to change his getup, even if it wasn't very discreet.
I wonder who would be the most stubborn, the magician, or Jarbor, if it really came down to it?

The magician would most likely get his way in the end, but if you don't think Jabor would be a difficult prick about it then boy do I have news for you.

Like when all the djinn of Khaba's merry band put on small additions like horns or sharp teeth as a small sign of rebellion except with more jackals. Always with the jackals and the abnormally red skin. Maybe he thinks it's fashionable. We don't know...we just don't know. He keeps sounding the jackal cry into the night and quite frankly it is terrifying and unearthly, but more importantly NOBODY CAN GET ANY SLEEP.

The APOCALYPSE is coming (in form of a red skinned anubis).

This answer is EXTREMELY late, but if not the apocalypse, then at least a catastrophe or a very hard to clean mess. Now there's a magician that's going to have to pay a lot in property damages.

I don't know if I should feel more sorry for Jarbor or the magician.

I'd say Jabor because the magician should really have known better.
