"Zahir, in Arabic, means visible, present, incapable of going unnoticed. It is someone or something which once we have come in contact with gradually occupies our every thought, until we can think of nothing else. This can be considered a state of Holiness or Madness."

Meh. The idea had me hooked, the book has a ghostly tone about it which impressed me alot. It ended up confirming my belief that the religious masses are idiots.

Anyone read it? Really, really disappointing.

I agree, it's a fascinating concept and the book sounded brilliant up till your last line..lmao.

*Shurg*

Very overt religious overtones. Miracles. Throws science out of the window. Quite a bit of fluffiness to the end.

If you go for these things, sure. Brilliant book.

This guy wrote The Alchemist, didn't he? It wasn't too bad, but I guess you have to have the same ideals.

Maybe I'll add Zahir to my long list of books to read.
