So, what's your favorite book outside of The Hobbit and LOTR that deals with Middle Earth?

I love the Unfinished Tales as you can read more about Galadriel and Celeborn and there was insight from Gandalf's perspective into why Bilbo was chosen.

where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve and chivalry
set Gryffindors apart."

The Silmarillion. Tragedy/musical/prolonged-soap-opera-with-lots-of-hawt-elves.
Nothing to see here, move along.

I really like the Sil too?

Have you read Unfinished Tales?

Nope.

It was really good, but in some ways it was really similar to the Sil.

"You belong in Gryffindor,
where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve and chivalry
set Gryffindors apart."

Nice. What was your favourite chapter? Mine was 'Of Beren and Luthien'. Magical elven talking dog Huan FTW. Not forgetting the appearances of Finrod, Sauron and a somewhat pervy Morgoth. Loved the story too.

Basically anything to do with the Valar.

Ok, so the very beginning.

"You belong in Gryffindor,
where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve and chivalry
set Gryffindors apart."

The Valar were cool, but I love those elves more. It's great to see those perfect beings screw up once in a while.
Nothing to see here, move along.

I do like Galadriel.

She is one of my favorite characters.
