As prices rise, we need to prepare ourselves by adding one to every number in our words.

Tuesday becomes Threesday
intoxicated->intoxic-nined

Wow? I offend four people? Fine, I won't say it again, but I do think this is kind of stupid.

I wasn't really misusing the word rape, it really can mean any kind of general violation other than the sexual kind. (Which, for most of the word's life, that's what it meant.) Hell, it can also means a plant.

Political correctness can kiss my as/s. "Don't say that's go gay! That's offending gay people. Say it's lame (never mind that it originally meant a form of a physical disability, and so, could be attacking that group of people.)

Bleh.

:rolleyes:

Well, I think its disgusting the way its been brought into everyday speech. Its stupid, its uncessesary. And for some reason I don't think you meant the plant. :hmm:

As for using the word "gay" as a negative is another of those idiocies. It all started with people's intolerance of homosexuality. I'm not as concerned about the fact it offends people as that it's just rediculous. Its no way to promote equality when one group of people are constantly being referred to as a negative is it?

In no way am I advocating political correctness I don't think, for example, that as what happened in the UK when Christmas trees couldn't be displayed in certain towns. I just think its good to be considerate of others.

When a word enters common usage, it loses it offensive edge. Impolite, maybe.
It's a fact that swearing can add force to a point.

There will never be equality, Human beings are born inequal. Rome was built on the backs of slaves. Discrimination and bigotry is in our genes. In the Amygdala, I believe.

But, perhaps by your own argument for not using those word in that, they are used i the wrong context etc, then you shouldn't see the word gay as homosexual, as you probably know was not the original meaning of the word.

I know what you mean though, just being pedontic. :P I don't see the point in swearing and so don't, it just shows that one has a limited vocabulary, something I do not find true in many people who swear.
