The weird thing was, the ENTIRE page for the amulet of samarkand movie was taken down, everything, so my guess is that some news accidentally leaked out, which the studio didn't want out, so they forced hollywood.com to take it down, another wierd thing is that it was taken down a day (I go on wikipedia a lot) after being posted on wikipedia, I'll post what was up on hollywood.com before they took it down.
What would they want to keep secret, anyways? It's a Fantasy movie...

It was probably released to early, like with the Eragon film, the fan sites have to go check with the film studio before they can release the news, they have to take news down if the studio does not want it out yet etc. , the catch is, when you type in anything Bartimaeus related in the search at hollywood.com, you get the director, and the producers for the film, even though the page is gone.

It's just marketing. Films generally reach more people through advertising than books, so what better way to advertise a book than sticking the film's advertising on the front?

If there was a movie, I want Kian Mitchum to be Nathaniel and Natalie Portman for Kitty. If you see her in Leon, she looks totally like her. I'm not very fussy with Jane, but I'd choose Jeisa Chiminazzo.
Yeah, Natalie Portman would be a good choice I suppose. Yeah and the actors on the front of the books are really lame.

First off, Kitty begins out as a thirteen year old. Natalie Portman wouldn't be able to pull that off. Same for Nathaniel.
I thought the kid who played Edmund could be Nat, but he is getting too old, and I already see him as Edmund.
