We all spam once in a while.
The film needs to come out, bad or good, it'll make the trilogy more popular, that is, if the film isn't low budget or foreign.
Gah...guess i got too excited...*sigh*

Wonder if they started casting auditions yet?

We all know that book adaptation of movies are all hit and miss. Some are good (LOTR and HP) and a lot suck (Eragon, The Golden Compass). Hopefully, the Barti movie will do better than the bad ones.

The Golden Compass was said to be good by some.
English people have more sense about movie adaption more than Americans. But I could be the writer...:P

It's hard to make a good movie adaption if the book itself sucks. Case in point: Eragon.

foreign?
<shudder/>
Nooo No No NOO.

Deary me, no foreign films on this, please.
I will sincerly(spellin') hate whoever does that.
If all else fails, I want Peter Jackson to do it.
Britsh actors, unknown voices for the spirits, I mean really, look at what he did for LotR...
Imagine what he could do for the Trilogy...
Yes, they better start auditions now if they want an '09 release.
Filming won't last that long, but filming and post-preduction (CGI) will.
I sound a little off don't I?
Ah well...
tee-hee.

I don't mean foreign. I mean mostly British, but some Americans, and a CANADIAN!

Want at least a Canadian working on the important parts.
NOW NOW NOW!! :pirate1:

Why so much hate? Ptolemy was Egyptian!

But if we must have a Canadian, let it be Ellen Page, but we should get actors based on talent, not nationality, since clearly we will not have people throwing themselves at us, like HP did.

Correction, talented Canadian.
As long as the person who's chosen to do Bart doesn't mess him up, then I'm perfectly ok!

Looks like there's some Canadian pride going on here. But I don't mind going to Canada someday; just want to see what it's going to be like in the winter olympics (which is still far away). Anyway back on topic...

How long does it usually take to film a movie (not counting the pre- and the post-production)? Around 3 months? :hmm:

You need to be specific with that question; it can last 3 weeks to several months depending on set backs, stunts, etc. But it's an average 2-3 months.

In Ptolemy's form, you mean? Cause those gargoyle and lizard forms will probably be done with CGI.

CGI for everthing but live action and the spirits when they are in a human form. HOw else would it work?
Due to the lesser amount of live-action compared to most films (CGI-only need not apply) I expect about a month and a half to two months for shooting, then possibly a 6 month long pre- and post-production job.
We'd be very lucky indeed to see a 2008 release, I'm guessing a Mid-09 release if things start shooting within a couple months.
More likely a Summer release.
