Any news for the movie? Any link ?

It will be gr8 if they choose someone from our forum to act in the movies. We would have an even better reason to see the movie & our forum would become more famous. And I guess many of us can act. That should'nt be a problem.

Well, as many of us aren't from England....or even the Uk...I don't know if we'd get picked.

Though voiceovers would be fun. I think it'd be cool to let the djinni have American/French/Ect. accents to contrast with the Londoners.

It's highly unlikely that Miramax would use fans for voiceovers, since they'd have to train the actors and an amateur could screw the whole movie up. It's already another fantasy kiddie movie in a genre, that after HP, is a little overdone.

And also these movie take a lot of time to get done and they wouldn't want to pull fans out of school and regular life.

Thank you for the vote of confidence, Nero.
Am I really that good?
And I agree, Miramax will want stars, or at least those with experience with movies and voice-acting.
And I agree on that point, too.
The studio wouldn't want to have us destracted by school and/or work, not to mention they would want to deal with our parents, for those who live with them still...

I just realized, we could have Ellen Page, from Juno and Hard Candy as Kitty.

She also looks a lot like Natalie when her hair was short:
link and also here after like 5 seconds

Only the Live-action characters need an accent.
The spirits should have as close to no accent as possible, as discribed by Stroud.

no accent would be pretty difficult to do... if you have an english accent then how do you stop yourself from sounding english, while not sounding like anything else either?

anyway, doesn't ellen page have an american accent.. it wouldn't be too hard to put on a British accent, but she would possibly have to take some classes which would take time. would they do that when they could just cast a regular English girl that looks like Kitty? i don't know what a film company's perspective on that would be. i'd like it if they cast unknowns for kitty and nathaniel, though ones with acting experience, rather than just getting someone famous for the sake of it... they seem to be doing that for a few fantasy stories recently i.e. His Dark Materials (Golden Compass), Harry Potter. i dunno, i just think it would give the film an original feel to reflect the trilogy itself.

Ellen Page, tha's a good idea. I saw Juno the other day, and judging from that, I think that she'd be well suited to play as Kitty. Incidentally (sp?), was she also the girl who could walk through walls in the X-Men movies?

I'm pretty sure studios have stuff to deal with school/work, parents, etc., and those aren't really particularly strong reasons for not choosing an amateur to be in the movie. If they decide an amateur would work better than a star, that's what they'll do. Not much else would come into it, unless it's stuff that they don't have control over (like not gettting the actor/actresses they wanted).

As for accents, I'm not that worried. I'd be surprised if the accents by themselves screw up the movie. Or even make it any less enjoyable, for that matter.

SOrry what I meant was as neutral an accent as possible.

Ellen Page is a good idea, but by the time the dang film rolls into production she'll probably be too old.

Kitty is thirteen in the first book and Page is like what...twenty?

She looks young and her toes are yellow.

She has this really smug, pretentious smile that I can't decide if I hate or adore, but it's perfect for Kitty.

Well, it's ok, because every two years you find a new Kitty.

yea, it was like, "she rubbed it in cheetos or something" but in her defense, i think the lighting was really disgusting also.

Natalie will always be my favourite kitty, she's so cute and badass like in that SNL skit...i'll go find it

Edit: what u want natalie??
