The Eragon Movie

Book Discussion
I don't know what the original Saphira was like, because I haven't read the book. (Don't intend to) But yeah, she was cool, adorable, totally unscary and will prob be the highlight of the show for many people. I loved her newly hatched form, it was just like a mewling kitten.

I'm going to see it after school today at 4! lol. me and my friend have been determined to see this movie opening day since we learned it was being made into a movie. but then one of our other friends went and planned a party for tonight, so we are walking the 4 miles from the high school to the theater. see the movie, then my friends mom is going to give us a ride to the very badly timed party, lol.

Cant wait xD

I'll make sure to tell you all if it was good.

Oh yeah, and i don't think saphira is blue enough..she is like...really to dark i think. I think she makes a cute baby dragon though! hehe.

Hmm, 'next best thing to LotR' - Review.
Shame of the Super Son
I'm not surprised, most people won't get very worked up over cheesy dialogue (No. 1 flaw of the movie)

It was just so-so really, I found it to be slightly more entertaining than The Lion, the Witch and the wardrobe.

Well, I trust it has a crap load of special effects to compensate.

There's also the princess who lolls about sexily.

I like Mr Speelers. Didn't expect I would, but he's nice in the movie. It seems that everyone in the movie thinks so as well. o.o

I didn't like the look of him at first, I think he looked to old and stuff, but I have heard he does a great job as Eragon though.

OMG is that really Post???
I am going to see it after school too. Like in 45 minutes or so. I think it looks good.

I'm probably going to try and see it some time before it leaves theatres.
Problem is I only have girly friends who don't want to see it with me.

P.S Is it actually any good?
Better of worse than the book?
I didn't read the book, so I have no idea. It was good entertainment for like, 1h 40 min. I went in with low expectations though. 3/5 stars.

The critics have given it a 14% out of 100. It was 9%, but someone was too generous.

If your definition of good acting is having one facial expression. The critics are MURDERING this, the fans hate the adaptation, and most of the people who have seen it for the first time have no clue what the hell is going on. Even Jeremy Irons said that the book was poorly written and wouldn't see the movie unless he had a younger relative.

The three ships. Kinda like the Mayflower and all those.

Me and my friend were complaining about how much was totally screwed up the entire way to my friends house. It started out ok I suppose, so I had my hopes up. But as soon as Saphira told Eragon that her name was Saphira, I was like "damn..." And it all got messed up from there. That battle scene at the end was terrible, and they left out so much stuff thats very important for the second one, if they make a second one. Which they better, cause for someone that hasn't read the books they have be wondering what on earth is going to happen to the king.

So because I was so absorbed in the wrongness in the movie, I'm not entirly sure on my opinion of the movie itself..but even Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Chronicles of Narnia I knew I enjoyed despite the differences.

But because I'm a geek like that, I bet I will be seeing it again with my boyfriend, lol.

Here's hoping the majority of the population realises how awful it is, they make a sequel, and it flops.

The special effects were all nicely done I think though. I really like saphira despite her lack of blueness. xD

I think Brom was the best casted charecter going by looks alone.

And that is very much not how I imagined Saphira's voice...

Oh, but I will say that I loved how almost the entire movie all the guys wore leather pants :D
But it looked like Roran was wearing blue jeans...

Yup, what's with all the leather? :hmm: I thought Roran (that's his cousin right) looked like Steve Irwin, maybe it's just me.

I was so bored by the movie that I started out picking out really unnecessary things e.g. innuendo (interesting finds there o.o) and the costumes. I liked the stuff they wore for battle, the ethnic inspiration was refreshing.

Wow, If you never read the books, the movie would be alright, but campared to the books it was the most dissapointing movie ever, and to make it worse the book was plagiarised.
