Of course they won't affect you. ;) He and that gay elf are seen as enlightened, the rest of the flesh eating, god worshiping people are the ignorant masses.

Hell, I'm a Atheist and a Vegetarian and I dislike how Paolini puts it across.

You are, Post?

I agree. Some books/movies/shows promote my own beliefs, and they do it poorly.

Besides, my point is that he is using his children's book to promote these beliefs. The books are aimed at those whose brains have not quite reached the stage at which they can choose their own beliefs yet.

Although I will say, that it is my own belief that there is nothing wong with eating meat. We were designed to be omnivours, animals in nature eat one another, it is simply a part of life.

Will I state that Ibelieve this?

Yes.

Will I tell you why I believe this?

Yes.

Will I tell you that you are inferior for not believing what I believe and that only my way is right?

Of course not.
I say night I'm living in the forest of my dream,
I know the night is not as it would seem,
I must believe in something,
So I'll make myself believe it,
That this night will never go.

There's a butcher's shop nearby where live hens are routinely slaughtered. And there's the Id celebrations where cute little goats are murdered in the neighboorhood mosque. ;) I refuse to eat those cute little things.

What if they've been soaked with hormones and are more like cute little robots?

And Paolini does not try to sell his beleifs. He tries to make a culture for the elves. Does that mean you need to follow the culture?

Of course not!
Look, Queezle.

That applies to hens only. ;) , I doubt I'd like the spices anyway.

The elves come off as enlightened, The main character, the hero is converted to their beliefs, benovolent and wise.

Cause what about the dwarves who believe in gods? They're scoffed at.

And in the movie, there's one dwarf at the dwarf city and all the humans are African.

IT IS ME!

I am sure you have all missed me very very greatly. (Lets be honest, you don't remember who the hell I am). Armed with a laptop and a good internet connection I warn all those softy wimps who say they are in love with the piece of crap that paolini has forced upon young children that I am not to be reckoned with.

I don't care if you are a nice person or if you happen to enjoy some of the better books in life. If you like Eragon or the thing that is its sequel you are the enemy.

That being said:

This book is an insult to literary minds everywhere. The man (confused isolated home schooled loser) has no idea how to write fiction. The book is choppy, and half of it isn't even needed. It doesn't flow and is hard to read. If you find the plot interesting I suggest you read ALL THE OTHER GOD DAMN BOOKS JUST LIKE IT!

I cannot stress this enough. Many people have made this same remark but it doesn't seem to be getting through to you people. No matter how many times we say it you still rebuke that it has an intersting plot. You're right. It does. So does lord of the rings, STAR WARS and all the other MILLION BOOKS WITH DRAGON RIDERS. There are many. I may come back with a list. In some ways it is a good book because of this time old plot. But so many other authors have written it, and so much better, that its really more of an insult to all those proud TALENTED people who have written the classics we know and love.

I will leave it to Post to fill in all the other things wrong with it (religous beliefs, mary sue-ism and much much more) but I also noticed mention of Cornelia Funke. Whatever you may think of her books, which I happen to like, it must be known that she is a million times better than that idiot who calls himself an author.

:D

Artemis: (Yes, I am at her house once again. For those of you interested, her new laptop is an HP Pavillion. Damn, am I jealous.) Yowza Athy, harsh much? Of course, I am also to blame. I egged you on.

I haven't.

But, I've already read Lord of the Rings! And Paolini has a better plot than a lot of other authors, especially *shudders* Cornelia Funke.

Have you ever read Dragon Rider? Ew. I mean, Eragon just fits all of the details that the other books missed. Like connections between elves and dragons, vegitarians, mind connections between dragons and elves, the Varden...

I still like it.
Look, Queezle.

Um, not to be rude, but I don't think you can remember me seeing as I wasn't here when you became a memeber.

I don't really like dragon rider, but Inkheart is one of my favorite books of all time. Funke demostrates a talent for old time story telling in a modern setting. It's really magical. Eragon doesn't even come close to that. Instead of making you feel like your in a magical world, its makes you feel trapped in a fake, violent prison.

(And I really hope you did not just say that Eragon is better than lord of the rings.)

Of course not. Nothing is better than LOTR. But sometimes I read other books, when I'm not re-reading it (I know, it's crazy), and I read Eragon.

I meant that I hadn't forgotten who you were. I've read some of your posts...I'm not sure what you thought I meant.
