Is it just me, or did anyone else wonder whether they were going to use something from the dragon to destroy the cup? Because it was right there in front of them, and wouldn't dragon blood or scales or something have destroyed it?

Am I way off?
Look, Queezle.

Maybe. But I rather thought they'd eventually get Basilisk fangs after the sword was stolen.

Am I making things up here, or do I remember Gandalf in LotR saying dragon fire might have destroyed the One Ring, but Bilbo and co killed off the last known one? Two different series and all, but it would imply the dragon might have been able to...

I don't think so.

Of course, it's been a long time since I've read it and it wasn't brought up in the movies.

It was never stated that Smaug was the last known dragon. There were others in the north, above the Misty Mountains. They live in the Withered Heath, I think.

I meant known as in the last one they know where it is, not as in last ever.

The last named, I guess.

But do you remember anything about Dragon fire?

I thought that one of the twelve uses of dragon's blood would be to destroy the horcruxes...but nope.

Dragon fire destroyed some of the Dwarven rings, but they weren't made in Mt. Doom, were they?

No.

I think that is where Sent is getting it.

That's one take on the books, if you're a cynic who doesn't believe in love or just want a laugh.

It makes sense having Master of Puppets, of all songs. BTW, that's a good song.
