The audio version of the t

Answered Questions
Mr. Stroud:

I enjoyed your trilogy very much. I listened to the unabridged audio version read by Simon Jones, which I thought was excellent. It made my commute pleasant for weeks. Thank you.

My question is about the making of the audiobook. Did you give Mr. Jones any additional information or feedback, such as how names should be pronounced or the tones of voice that should be used, or did he work solely from the books?

Thank you.

Ellen
Hello Ellen,

Thanks for the question - sorry to have been so slow replying.

I had quite a few chats with the audio version's producer, and he was very careful to run by all the pronunciations and uncertainties before they started recording. We also had to tweak one or two footnotes here and there. But I didn't give Simon Jones any tips on voices or tones - that's entirely his territory! And like you I think he did a great job.

Incidentally, there's a new (UK) version coming out shortly, read by Steven Pacey, who is also excellent. It's abridged, and it'll be interesting (for me!) to compare the two.

All the best,

Jonathan
