Quite effing true, I guess?
Gah, everyone despises Paolini, he's alright now.
Hell, didn't you say you hadn't even read him, Umbreo?

Means 'quoted for truth.'

I remember when I thought for a time it meant 'quit flooping 'ecking talking.' It was a little embarassing to discover later I didn't have to get annoyed at people who used that acronym for what I thought apparantly no reason. :-/

Have now, Dansariki. That was, what, weeks ago? Haven't yet read Brisingr, though.

That's the best of the lot. I thought after all the disparaging comments made here about the author & his books, you wouldn't dream of reading it. Good thing you did though. Better to rely on your opinion than that of others.

I just thought - "What the hell?" and read it anyway. Yes, even after I concluded not to. But it's not so bad, I guess. Pretty good actually for a sixteen year old.

He was around 16 when he wrote it, no?

Started writing it then, maybe. Took him ages to finish writing it though; they just played up the age thing for sympathy votes from critics..

Not really, it's said he started in at fifteen.
Even considering time to write and make, then publish, he was probably 18 or so when it was actually done and edited.
Hmm... maybe 19.
Editing takes awhile.

Mmhmm.
Unless I worked incredibly hard (not likely, seeing as how I'm so lazy), I wouldn't be able to turn out anything comparable.
Though I would still avoid such a Tolkien-esque landscape.
I'd do that much.

You could do a distopian novel! Those are always fun. Although, most dystopian concepts have already been novelized, so you'd have to pick a vague dystopian author (i.e, not Orwell/Aldous H.) to Paolinigerize from and hope no one will take notice.

Or just set the novel in Mwambaland. Then there won't have to be 'Paolinigerizm,' for I'm sure such divinity would be inspirational to even the most bland of settings.

Oh I think I could do a fairly original dystopian.
The problem would be thinking of a new way to kill most of everyone, what happens after that's easier.

haha.
I do happen to like Halo's Glassing concept, rather appropriately apocalyptic.
Course, it doesn't have to be totally effed up.
Could just be a worldwide EMP.
Maybe... idk fifteen, twenty high altitude nukes, out goes the li-ights!
