In real news: the Endeavour has landed, so I gather there will not be any more shuttle launches. :( And Orion has been cancelled as well.
Other news: My uber-nerdular club, Spacesim, is starting our simulated space mission today. I get to miss most of a week of school, w00t!
I've set up a twitter feed live from mission control, so if you want to check it out, go to http://twitter.com/SpaceSim. Even if you dislike Twitter, this will be pretty cool.
Spacesim, as I've probably already ranted about, is a non-profit high school organization dedicated to space science, and we run this main, week-long mission as well as smaller ones throughout the year. It is really freaking fun, and thus we're trying to expand to other locales. We grew out of the International Student Space Simulation of the late 80s and early 90s, but one by one, the other groups died and astronaut exchanges stopped. So a rebirth would be incredibly awesome.
...If you actually took the time to read that, thank you.
