He ayed bail, wife filed for divorce, dunno what happened after that.

You know what I hate about teachers. In the few weeks before Christmas they all decide (individually I assume, though it could be a conspiracy): "Lets make the last week before break easy for the students, they'll hand in a big assignment/test the week before."

Resulting in everything I have to do before break due this Friday.

Thank god we don't have school tomorrow (although it's not because of anything pleasant... :unsure: ....a student was shot in Athens and so we get a day off )...

Mmm, this is just a theory but they probably use that last week of nothing to grade those assignments so that they could lessen their workload over the holidays. Y'know, spend time with families and stuff.

It's what I would do.

Speaking of which, I just realized that 4 of my teachers have LIVES. Not that I don't know, but I realize that they don't go on and on with lecture and lessons like most teachers would do...

My English teacher is clumsy and likes to tell us embarrassing stories a lot.
My chemistry teacher actually cares about us and keeps treating us as if we're really people and not just little kids.
My Spanish teacher actually flirts with the hot guys in my class
My history teacher likes to drink soda a lot in school when his wife wouldn't let him drink coke in front of the kids.

Oh, and the last two teachers (plus my English teacher from last year) gives out good dating advice. I can still do with boring lectures all day though. Zzzzzzzzz.....

Well, I have passed school, but I still miss it. College is loads of fun too, but something's missing. So don't lambast schools-you will miss it immensely when you pass out.

And over here, Sentynel, university and college are different. University is more studying and combines all topics, while college focuses on one specific subject with more hands on stuff.

University is more for if you want to have a massive career, college you right away get a job.

Pretty much the same usage as us then, although our university is single-course rather than you picking all sorts of modules, but it's not vocational. In the US "college" refers to what we'd call university.

For us, university is not for pure science, arts, commerce etc. Its basically for engineering & tech studies(that's my perception, could be slightly of the mark, but basically yeah,that's it)
Ah Sent, don't you find uni life quite unorganized & alien? In school, all teachers knew you by name & you knew all your juniors & seniors. In college, you have to take part in various events to get to know a handful of people. But college gives you loads of independence & you can do what you like. I can't choose between the 2 but I think college could be more fun(I just joined college). But that doesn't mean I will ever stop feeling nostalgic about school.

I love being able to work on my own schedule, personally. Sure, sometimes it means I'm up working til 3am. But if I want an afternoon off, mostly I can. I prefer knowing a smaller number of people, anyway. I know some of the people in my college, the people at sci fi society, a few of the people on my course, and that's still a fair number of people. We have tutors who do know us, anyway.

Heh. My French teacher was telling us how she'd arrange things so she'd always have Fridays off.
