Question for the Master himself

Answered Questions
Dear Mr. Stroud (a.k.a. my hero, in my mind),

1.) Have you ever found yourself regretting that you have put an end to the Bartimaeus Trilogy? For example, have you ever caught yourself daydreaming about another part to Bartimaeus' story, even though it's complete?

2.) Are you working on any new writing piece currently? If so, will it be fantasy-based, perhaps even magician/djinni based?

3.) Seriousness aside, do you know of any fan clubs dedicated to you? If not, I have some work to do ^_^
Hello Purity,

Sorry about the long delay in replying, but thanks for your questions...

1. Well, not exactly regrets... but daydreams, yes. I think it was correct to finish the story of Bart, Nat and Kitty after 3 books - there would have been diminishing returns if I'd tried to keep thinking of new ways for their relationships to go. But of course there are plenty of other Bart stories (he's always dropping hints about them), and I have toyed with the idea of investigating his past. In fact I wrote a short adventure for Bart this summer, set in ancient times, when I was putting my website together, but I decided not to put it on the site in the end. I may come back to it at some future point when a few more ideas have built up in my mind.

2. Yes, I'm currently working on a new novel. It will certainly have fantasy elements in there, but there won't be any magicians... I'm hoping to finish it by next summer, and I guess it'll come out late 2007 or early 2008. I'll post up more info on this on my website - www.jonathanstroud.com - as things progress...

3. I don't know of any fan clubs... Do other authors have them?? Anyway, it's an honour for me to have this fine forum to take part in!

Bye,

Jonathan
