I would like to suggjes that we start purifying the forum....meaning that we start deleting user names that havent posted at all in X amount of days and then set up a system of letting users keep their user name if they infor us of a leave of absense...I am suggjesting this because i want this forum to be full of ACTIVE members not a bunch of screen name s that arent used......please pardon my spelling

The problem with implementing a system like this is when you get special cases, like Admin, Mod, and Jonathon Stroud. There also aren't that many advantages, and it takes a time to go through and delete old users, making sure you don't delete important ones. And, of course, Gladstone's PM box gets bombarded with people saying 'I'm going away for the weekend, please don't delete my username...' etc.

does it really matter that people aren't posting? i say that there is no need to delete members who haven't posted as they do in the future
I think we should just have something like an activity check. Then everyone(besides the author and special cases of people who've actually posted that they're going away, or have informed us that they're going to be inactive) who hasn't posted in the activity check will be deleted. I've seen that system in many other sites and the activity checks have worked quite well. :roflmao:

Just providing my own point of view. The final decision is, of course, up to Gladstone.
