um....has anyone actually tried to find the actual ptolemy.
the one that's not this guy who's not ptolemy
i searched wiki....
...i wish i hadn't.
it was interesting. but i found out way too much.
look at the family tree
yeah, getting off that one. i didn't manage to find the actual kid specifically with a story and dates that matched up but the au setting of the book could've made things different anyway (it did in british history).
anyway, ptolemy the IX didn't kill anyone. but ptolemy the VIII did. he actually killed two children in the family both around 12-14. one was his own son...the other was the son of his brother. but both dates for these predate ptolemy by years and years though but nothing else fits. and it's way two much of a coincidence.
so much so that some historians or what ever thay are say that the two boy's might have been the same person.
neither of which were born of a egyptian girl. but things might've changed because of the au thing.
either way they're all here.
Ptolemy VIII plus his son
Ptolemy IX who didn't actually do much in his reign..in fact he wasn't even that bad.
Ptolemy's Nephew
yes,i am a sad case. and i was bored. and i don't expect anyone to care enough to comment. haha.
PS., after reading all of this it was sort of weird that ptolemy was called ptolemy. they all were called by their other names. so Ptolemy the eighth was Physcon and his son was called Lathyros. so if bart's ptolemy was one or both of the kid's i found he'd have been called Neos or Memphites...not actually refered to as ptolemy....
