There's no way the US can win the war in Iraq.

It's not like we can give up, though. I mean check out the Vietnam War and the cirmcumstances surrounding it.

The only way we'd ever be able to win the war, though, is if we bomb the whole country. But we'd never do that, so we're going to keep fighting uintil we run out of men.

Ianna, you live in the US? Where???????????

The South.

And the rest I'm not at liberty to day, though you could basically figure it out if you check out really old posts.

We're going to have to stabalize, get their military souped up, and they leave bit by bit. We can't keep going like this.

We're going to loose evenutally

It's unwinnable, but I doubt we're going to lose. Some of the largest militant groups have said they'll stand down if the Americans leave, so there's hope yet.

But like I said that'd lead to another Vietnam.

And we can't leave it in choas, it's our fault Iraq is in shambles now.

Kuwait was the best. The got in and then got out. They still praise Bush Sr. name over there.

Seriously?

I guess Bush Jr. isn't going get the same praise.

Seriously, I think the only way we can stop Iraq is to bomb it all. How else can we win? Everyone's an enemy. No one can be trusted.

So basically, I'm your enemy?

Ok, yeah, I see your point, but if there's no trust in the world we just might as well blow each other up.

We can still leave Iraq a viable country. Get the Iraqi armed forces seriously organised, get their government in order, and then get the militants to agree to bugger off when the Americans do (which some of the big ones have offered to do anyway) and you're sorted.
No, it won't be that easy in practise, but it's possible.

The Iraq war isn't for us to win... if it is going to be settled it has to be iraq that settles it. We are only there to oversee that things go accordingly.

I agree with Sent and Adele.

But back to parents....do you guys share their political/religious beliefs or do you have different ones.

I get my own religious beliefs and whatnot.

Didn't get what you were saying there.

Yeah, me too. I mean, my whole intermediate family is of the Christian relgion, but I'm the only one who believes in predestination and other stuff.

Well, none of my family goes to church. My grandma is Catholic, I think we are presbiterian, but I have only ever gone to a catholic church. Maybe 5 times at the most. Most of my family believes in god, but I don't. We mostly have the same opinion of things, an don't agree with a lot of religious stuff.

Do your parents get mad?

I know I had an arguement over predestination with my Dad.

I definitely have different views from my parents. Boring slightly-right-of-centre sods. (I'm very much left wing) They're also pretty much agnostic, whereas I'm atheist.

Oh bullcrap Anuk. 90% of Iraqis would like nothing better than for things to calm down and them to get on with normal lives.
