Dear mr Stroud,
I found another question!
Hope you have time to answer it:
When Spirits :magic: change form, say, from something big into something small, what happens to their essence?
Does it become small too? In the Ring of Solomon you mention that Bartimaeus changes into
wrote:rather insignificant-looking cricket
So when he changed into a cricket, his essence had to decrease in size too, becuse the spirit Bosquo didn't see him nor feel him
And in book one, the amulet of Samarkand, Bartimaeus changes into a mole. What happend to his essence when he was deep in the ground? How did it look? Say his true form has tentacles, like Faquarl's - how would they move through the dirt on the seventh plane?

So, since my question got a bit complicated, let me address it face to face:
If Bart changed into, say, a cricket, and hid in a small box, would his true self on the seventh plane stick out of it? (gross... a body that has a small box around it's chest) - or would it shrink to fit in the box?

Thanks for reading,
Your books are great,
Matt
