If anyone ever tries to get into anyone else's account it will result in a banning, without warning.

This is not a joke and will be added as a forum Law shortly.

Oh shut up Nate. I'm having far too much fun here.

Wrong, Abel.

Let's assume there are 400,000,000 computers in the world. That's about right - maybe a little low, but they're not all connected to the internet, so that'll do. Let's assume they all run the magical program that makes 10 password attempts per second, and they each do it 24/7.
It will only take them a bit over 36,000 years.

Incidently, l33t-haxxor who shall remain unnamed, why, having discovered that attempting a lost password recovery on Gladstone's account doesn't work, did you try it on mine?
EDIT: My bad. Having tried it on my account and discovered it doesn't work, why did you then try it on Gladstone's?

i'm with sent on that one. he might let something slip *scoobydochuckel*

yeah, i dont get that math thing. do i need the number of seconds in a year/could i use this to get the answer?

but if you have a computer built for the purpose of breaking that password and nothing else it would be quicker. and it could always get it right first time round.

what? do you send some really random email to them *goes to try it*

If you know how many seconds there are in a minute, how many minutes in an hour, hours in a day and days in a year, you can do it. Oh, and some basic probability laws.

The limiting factor on how fast the password can be tried is the response speed of the Invisionfree server. No matter how fast your internet connection, that's the limit. I've been assuming that they have unlimited bandwidth and CPU power to process all these requests, but there's still a delay.

i need probability laws?! well...i'm out.

meh...well, if its only purpose is to check it, it could do 1000000s at a time

Oh yeah...there goes my hope.

I asked someone to try to hack in for me. She has some program, and she's done invisionfree boards before.
Sent, did I ever mention how depressing you are?

Oh sure.
Just like everyone else who's hacked invisionfree.
Except, of course, they haven't.

Why thank you, Anuk.

You know, this is what I tell the poeple on InvsionfreeSupport.

Invisionfree forums have never been hacked, ever. They have been cracked, they are cracked simply because some people do not read the guides on having a secure passwords.

Yah, I think that’s what she means. But she thinks she’s good enough to get most passwords.

Yes because most Invisionfree Admins appear to have passwords like:

12321
qwerty
runescape
likeimgennatellyoumypassword

I believe some of the most common passwords are:
qwerty
password
secure

Cos people are REALLY imaginative about their passwords.

Come on, Luciene. Waiting for your l33t haXXor friend to get my password...

Yes, that's pretty much what I've been saying all along. If you count sextillions of years as a while.

Break down the years into hours. Now, if I was to work on this for ten hours a day, what are the chances of me getting it then?

You realise that if someone could work 10 hours a day and crack any password, that every single secure computer system in the world would have been cracked into already?
