It doesn't have italics or fonts or smiles and forces us to wait about 30 second of nothing. Pity the people with dial up conections.

It does contain italics etc., because its a quick edit, just to adjust spelling mistakes etc.

It's the same as the fast reply box. If you want smileys :) or italics or whatever, just put the BBcode in manually.
Nothing to stop you carrying on using the full edit page if you want.
