Hello Jonathan,
are you planning on writing more books featuring any of the characters from the 'Bartimaeus Trilogy'? If so what will the circumstances be like in that world?

I am also writing a book and have been for the last year but have done little (due to to much work from school), are there any tips that you would offer to a young author?

Thanx Nathaniel,

Hi Nathaniel,

Thanks for your question. The simple answer is.... I don't know. Right now I'm planning to write something different, because I've been immersed in Bart's world for four years now, and it feels like a good time to clear my head a little. But obviously Bart's a great character, and I'd like to see more of him. And of course he's kicked about the world for 5,000 years so he's had his fair share of fights, scraps, close shaves and disasters that might well be worth retelling. I'm going to create a website this year that should have lots of background material about Bart and his world and who knows what else, so that'll be the next thing to look out for.

As for tips on writing - well, the best thing to do is just write something as often as you can, even if it isn't long and/or you're not pleased with it. You just need to keep experimenting and practising. In some ways it doesn't much matter whether or not you finish stuff - I've got boxes of unfinished novels, poems, plays, games etc that I tried over the years. The thing is - you get better all the time.

Cheers,

Jonathan

:wow: I'm glad Jonathon Stroud decided to answer this question and I do appreciate the honest answer. I'm just a bit dissapointed with his response.I think we all would have liked an answer of- Yes,I'm in the process of writing a continuation/prequel now, and expect a new series out next year.
Who knows,he still might. I won't expect anything for atleast a few years.Thanx Jonathon Stroud for visiting the forum!

I think Bartimaeus left it's imprint and it's time to start something new...that's me personally.

I hope something would have been done in the past. That's be interesting.
Haha.
I'm writing a story too. See my name? Main character. And he rocks.
I think Jonathan Stroud should wirte a short book about Ptolemy, because he's my favourite character and a very interesting one. You don't usually get 14 year-olds intent on their work.

What's your story about? Artemis Fowl and Honorius?

I want to here more about all his masters, not just Ptolemy.
