I ain't in it, but my sister is. It's interesting, how you can be a countries: Defense Secretary, Health Minister, Foreign Affairs minister and others. This year's topic is on arms trade. Heh, my sister has America. They'll lose. :P

Do you know what country he's representing and what member of the parliament he is? (i.e. Defense minister, UN rep.)
I hear it'll be fun. I think.

Our school is Botswana I believe. I don't know any details beyond that.

We have a MUN in Bath today and for that I am representing Brunei we are also representing Botswana.

Then in a weeks time we are going to the major international one in the UN, New York where we will be representing Botswana.

I think the position are different for each group, we don't have them for going to a MUN, however the person who set it up attempted to set up a secritatiate within the group (like the real UN) and I was the Secretary general, but when he left we kind of have got rid of that system.
Could someone please explain what this is to me? I am much too tired to figure it out myself.

Well, its kind of as the name suggests, it a model United Nations.

Basically each school chooses a country(or several depending on how many people can be in each delegation and how many want to go) then each delegation has people assigned to different committees.

The each person will be represent their country on a particular set of issues which research is needed to be able to debate the issues and so you set about finding out your country's position on issue.

Then you will go to the MUN event (many different places host them) and there it is as the UN works and you discuss each resolution proposed.

It is very fun, countries yesterday were forcibly removed from the committees yesterday for doing things they were meant to, other countries were calling on others to be evicted from the committee and others were declaring war on others. Another funny thing was that the Health committee decided to send all of the world's waste to the US as they have plenty of free room, hahaha.

I am aware that their is an international way of doing MUN and an American way, so might be different for you Americans.

So, basically, you all had a big fight?
Pfft, and they said there wasn't going to be any declaring war on anybody.

I know that in the Security Council they all decided that the US should be given observer status and it was granted, it could then no longer vote, hahaha
Kinda like a simulation of the UN? I am quite involved in Space Simulations, but all the international ones dissolved years ago. But I'm going to Toronto in May for the University of Toronto Space Design Challenge.

The Toronto Aerospace museum is the biggest joke is the world. I was volunteering at a roll-out, and honestly, it's an old indoor soccer field and it's got guys playing soccer on the walls and everything. I was laughing so hard and it...
I've never been there... guess I'm not going to... :D
