👎Lucewood

Lockwood & Co.
Is the whole Lucy and locky lovey dovey stuff getting in the way of the entire story ? I think yes and I know others who would agree . If there's a Lucewood thing going (which there is ) then we have to make a sacrifice of how good the story is. When I read the 1st book it was wow and I didn't think he could top it.But when #2 came out it was a million times more amazing than the 1st. So naturally I was expecting him to top number 2, but no he didn't. The rank I gave it would be the same as the 1st book. It was bad comapred to the second book, but it was great like the first book, but didn't meet my expectations. The hollow boy focused more on Lucy building her character and the Lucewood to develop. The case they were working on was not muched cared for and the main details were on the tensions. Now I'm not saying I'm not for the Lucewood thing I'm totally in for it , and so is everyone else, but what about the mystery solving, the cases, the story? This entire book in my opinion is slowly turning into a rom. and kicking out like . . . idk EVERYTHING. I think there should be a Lucewood but not right now in the current books to come. Maybe the Lucewood thing can happen in the very last book on the last few pages of the end.

What Lucewood would you be talking about? As far as I know absolutely nothing has happened between Lucy and Lockwood in the romantic sense. No kissing, no cuddling, nothing. Yes, Lucy has a crush on Lockwood for obvious reasons and it's showing, but the has been no actual romance going on, and if I know Stroud at all, it certainly won't become the focus of the story any time soon. There is nothing wrong with Lucy's pining as she is a teenage girl after all, and as she is the narrator of the story, she is somewhat unreliable. Yes, Locklyle may happen, but seeing as Lucy is (spoiler!) moving out of Portland Row, I doubt it will happen soon.
If you want a story completely focused on the ghosties, ask Stroud to make one from George's POV :P

True, but all the drama and tension kinda is in the way. You have to admit though that the Hollow boy focused on Lucy's character developing. The only drama and bickering I want is within the trio which is the center of the comedy of this book. If only Holly was gone, the series would be back to normal(pretty sure she's the manipulater in the end ). And when I was talking about mystery and ghost I meant like in the first two books. Definitely not like George rambling on and on forever like a tangent. :mouth:  :P

Well, I guess without Holly, the status quo would have remained, but how else would the characters develop? Luce's problem with Holly was more that her getting in-between her and Lockwood. Lockwood himself diidn't exactly improve the situation, he was kind of an ass about the whole thing. Holly was just a catalyst.
So yeah, without the Lucewood or Locklyle element there would be more ghosties, but where's the fun in a nearly drama-less story? As for the manipulator, Holly is kind of the obvious choice but she was only introduced in the last book so she couldn't have affected the whole story.
