Is Nathaniel autistic

General Discussion
Quinte Mite
Having recently reread to the books I noticed that Nathaniel has a lot of traits and views associated with autism.
. He doesn’t have friends and is isolated throughout the series
. He’s highly intelligent when it comes to technical problems like magic
. Has poor romantic skills
. Obsessive, works hard
. Rigid behaviour
. Black and white sense of morality

I never heard about sensitivity issues or anything. It’s a possibility though, I’ve never considered that.

I just reread the series, and I don't think he is. He's only really isolated by his circumstances - he's isolated as a child because Underwood isolates him, and he's isolated as a young adult because he's surrounded by a bunch of backstabbing magicians. Stuff like his misunderstanding of commoners' motivations and so forth just comes from the way he's been educated and the circles he moves in - he cottons on pretty quickly when he's actually forced to spend time with one (Kitty). He's generally shown to be quite socially aware - he capably navigates a lot of complex politics, and is quick on the uptake working out power dynamics and the like when faced by new groups of people/conspirators. As Mwamba says, he also doesn't display any sensory processing issues.
