Dear Mr. Stroud,
I recently finished your, in all possible ways splendid and marvelous, trilogy (seriously, those books are true ART, I adore them). I am expecting to begin reading Ring of Solomon (when I at some point have recovered from that shocking ending of yours
).
First of all, I need to cleat one short thing up, before going on with my real questions: Nathaniel is dead right (please for gods sake say no!)? There is no way that he somehow survived the explosion (like there being a safety mechanism in the staff or something)?
Depending on that answer you answar to that:
I was wondering how you felt when writing the ending of PG? I imagine that you as a writer, after working with these characters for many years, building their universe, must develop some sort of relationship with the characters? I read that you had the whole "Nathan is gonna die" thing planned since midway through Amulet of Samarkand, but how did you feel when you actually reached the point where you actually had to write it down kill dear Nathan  ?
Question 2: Are you (and I am desperately hoping you are gonna say yes, seriously) planning on writing a sequel to the stories? I know that you are currently focusing on Lockwood and co, but I just think that there are so much more story to be told in the Bart universe (and I'm not talking about a prequel with Ptolemaeos or something like that, I'm speaking of a direct sequel to the events in PG, with Kitty, Bart and the gang)
.
Question 3: I was wondering what the Magician/commoner ratio was? How many commoners compared to magicians?
4: On the last page (I read the danish translation, so I'm not sure if its totally accurate use of words), Nathan said something like "Say hello/goodbye to Kitty for me" to Bart. Did Bart ever get the chance to do so (If you in some way are going to include this in another book, then please just ignore the question)?
5: Is it possible to trap a demon inside something like water or air? I'm not talking about the container, but the water itself?
6 (and last :P ): What name would you choose if you had to hide your true name, and choose a magician name?
I hope you find some time to answer
