heyy..i feel kinda stuiped askin this but i dont understand the thing about the planes..the 4th 5th 7th plane...i dont understand the meaning of them and waht they do so if u can help me i would really appericate it!!!!!!

Well let me see if I can help. The different planes, are like layers. Except, when you get to the higher planes, you can see through spirits guises. Magicians can only see planes 1-3, and slightly on 4 with their lenses. The higher level spirit, the more planes they can see. So, for example, Simpkin(Sholto Pinn's foliot), can only see up to planes 4(I think, maybe it's 5). But then Bartimaeus can see up to 7. Then spirits higher than Bart, can see even further than 7. So, how things get hid on them. The spirits can change their apperance on the lower planes. But, when you look on the higher planes, you can see their true form.

People who cannot see planes(non-magicians), can only see planes 1. From what I know, the first plane, is basically what we see.

But didn't Bart say in AoS that anything that sees higher than the 7th plane is just showing off? I always assumed that aside from the mercenary's boots the only planes that actually mattered were 1-7.

Well Barti would say that, wouldn't he, given that he can't see them.

I guess so. It just seemed that sense everyone revealed they're true form on the 7th plane you'd think it was the highest one needed...

The books said there was a possible eighth plane, you know those boots that the mercenery wears.

Is that what it said? I thought for sure that Stroud said that there definately were more planes past 7, they're just not mentioned since Barti doesn't have access to them...

I'm pretty sure ther are planes higher than 7, but most spirits probably operate on planes 1-7 or lower.
