Okay, no one here has read it, and yes I liked it because I like horses.
But: it is a really good book and the main character is SO MUCH like bartimaeus.
Think about it: same "I'm better than you" outlook, both enslaved by humans, both forced by humans to fight their kin. etc. etc. etc.
So, if you liked bartimaeus, read this book.
