Have you ever read BT fanfiction?

Answered Questions
Um...this is kind of a weird, maybe even stupid question, but I just have to know...

Have you ever read any fanfiction stories that were based off of your books? If so, what did you think? Do any stories come to mind? Did you take them as reviews for your books, did they give you any ideas for things to include in your writing? Were there any that struck you as cool, or really weird (like Alternate Universes or weird character pairings)?

Thanks for coming to our site, by the way.

Hi,

That's an interesting question. Up until yesterday I would have said no, but then I got a piece through the post by a fan who had done a new Bart chapter, from an earlier time in his career (with Queezle and Jabor guest-starring). It was great to read it, and I suppose it's like a kind of (favourable) review of the books, as well as being a story in its own right. There was also a competition in America for people to create new demons in a Bartimaeus style, which threw up some intriguing pastiches, but other than that I've not encountered much fan-fiction. I suppose the most exciting kind of fan-fiction would be something that took things in a new and unexpected (but still appropriate) direction... I'll look out for it!

Pleasure to visit the site!

You have no idea how happy I am that you didn't pull an Anne Rice.

I don't know however we'd manage without Post, but whatever.

That's sarcasm. A lot of it.

Mainly Krim, and as Charla has said, his ego is oozing all over the carpet.

Not my fault. You need to clean the carpet more often so it doesn't get everywhere.

This be reminding me of Bartimaeus the jelly blob in Ptolemy's Gate.
