Besides Bartimaeus.
hi there
unfortunately, i like character development over everything so i always (unoriginally) go with the main characters. :(Gladstone wrote:I preferred Faquarl, purely because of the banter between him and Barti.
yes, i liked ammet alot ( and magicians back then were alot more powerful than now-a-days if a kid, probably around nats age in Aos, can summon a marid  ) i just didn't see where the affection came from. i'd love if this was explained a bit more by jonathan stroud. i wonder, has anyone posted any questions to him yet?DeskRage wrote:I actually had fun with Ammet. I mean come, on, a marid lapdog? Actually no, it's like a giant blow-up of Simpkin in some ways, except Ammet can kick some ass. That, and he's probably one of the few characters to set Bart off in a genuine fit of--admittedly awesome--rage, as well as foreshadow Ptolemy.

Yeah, but who wouldn't? ;)aiReY-chan wrote:3. He totally wanted to look up Barti's skirt.
Completely agree with Canis Lupus back there. Solomon I found to be the best, (not counting Barti, of course), because he turned out to be the exact opposite of what I'd thought him to be. He wasn't typical ancient royalty (mean, evil, greedy, etc.) he was just a kind person with the wrong council.Canis Lupus wrote:I really liked Solomon because he was not as bad as everyone else thought he was. He was actually nice and caring. And cause he was all powerful! Muahaha.

anyway, it has to be asmira, being the main one she was the most developed and I liked her thinking in the fact that she didn't just go with the i-hate-the-queen-because-she-killed-my-mother thing that most characters do, instead she did that opposite by brainwashing herself because she needed her mothers death to have a meaning. I liked that. :D
Nobody likes him because he HURT BARTMAEUSSeshat wrote:Completely agree with Canis Lupus back there. Somehow, I'm not surprised that no one picked the Queen of Sheba. Does anyone like her?
(Typical ancient royalty, she was. Not even caring about the people who save your lives. Tch!) ^o)
Also, how come no one picked Khaba? All right, maybe he was the main antagonist of the book, but hey, for an evil character he was pretty good. He just may have been a bit excessive with the essence flail, not that I'm defending him.
